Raymond Stewart Red River rising faster than expected in ND, Minn.

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota and Minnesota residents who fought off record flooding a year ago in a frantic one-week sandbagging effort were jolted Sunday by the prospect of doing it over again. The latest flood forecast from the National Weather Service shows the river rising to 38 feet in Fargo by week's end before leveling off. That would be 20 feet above flood stage and about 3 feet below last year's record. The crest had been expected later this month or early April. The cities of Fargo and n… Continue

Frank Cervantes Louis Vuitton's Silver Screen Femininity

It was all very 1950s heroine chic at Louis Vuitton Wednesday, March 10, in Paris, when the label's designer Marc Jacobs sent out a series of proper, feminine looks onto a runway that circled a huge water fountain in a courtyard of the Louvre Museum.

"Doris Day, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, and I could mention others," Jacobs explained, referring to his influences, in the midst of the maelstrom that is the post-show backstage of Vuitton, where dozens of camera crews jostle for an in

Frank Cervantes TV ratings smile on Oscar as viewership rises

An estimated 41.3 million people saw "The Hurt Locker" top the popular "Avatar" for best picture in the most-watched Academy Awards telecast since 2005.

Frank Cervantes Oscar hopeful Sandra Bullock crowned worst actress

The day before she is favored to win an Oscar, Sandra Bullock was crowned on Saturday with the dubious title of worst actress of 2009.

Bullock, whose drama "The Blind Side" has made her the odds-on favorite to claim the best actress Oscar, was given a Razzie Award for worst female performance in "All About Steve." No performer has ever won a Razzie and an Oscar the same year.

Unlike most Razzie honorees, Bullock showed up to collect the award, dragging a cart of DVDs to hand out
